Todd Daniels of International Christian Concern tells OneNewsNow that Christians in Egypt are expecting attacks this Friday, the so-called “day of burning.” “There have been four-fingered symbols painted on the doors of Christian homes and shops, and that seems to be in preparation for this Friday…” says Daniels. “So there’s a lot of fear leading up to what might be a more organized attack again this Friday.” The four fingers is the Rabaa salute, which symbolizes violent August 15 military action that pushed Islamist protesters from their camp near the Rabaa mosque.

Muslims attacked Christians after the military crackdown, and there are as many as 300 Christian-owned houses, shops, schools and churches in Egypt. Christian victims have contacted police for help, but they generally arrive one to two hours after the damage is done, if they bother at all. “There’s a complete lack of security forces in these villages, especially in upper Egypt,” says Daniels. Daniels says their sources indicate the attacks are set to increase, and soon.

Christians with money are trying to flee  while others intend to stay, praying for a peaceful co-existence, says Daniels.
