Prayer for Churches in Turkey, Syria, Ukraine, Russia, and China

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 in a prayer conference call for the persecuted church hosted by Persecution Watch.

Dear Prayer Warriors, tonight, we will pray through the Scripture for the Churches in Turkey, Syria, Ukraine, Russia, and China.

The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 1:1-2

“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.” Revelation 1:3

  • Pray for the believers to read and meditate on God’s Word. That they will hear it and obey it”
  • Pray that they will persevere and endure hardships for His name, and not grow weary.”

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7

  • Pray that the believers will be victorious in the Lord.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12

“Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” Romans 13:14

  • Pray that the Christians will deny themselves and have compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience among the body of Christ and for the unbelievers.

10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.

11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.” Revelation 2:10-11

  • Pray that the Church will not be afraid in their sufferings.
  • Pray that the Church will remain true to His name and they will not renounce their faith in God.

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.” Revelation 2:17

  • Pray that they will have ears to hear what the Spirit says to them.
  • Pray that they will be victorious.

“To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations.” Revelation 2:26-27

  • Pray that they will be obedient even unto death and do the will of God.
  • Pray that they will repent when they fall short of the Glory of God in their weakness.

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” Revelation 3:21

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelation 12:11

  • Pray that they will overcome in the Lord by being obedient to Him.
  • Pray that they will serve the Lord and persevere in love and faith.
  • Pray that they will not be conformed to the way of this world. That they will hold on to what the Lord has given them to endure until He comes back.

“The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his” Revelation 3:5

  • Pray for victory in any circumstances!

“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” Revelation 3:8

“Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.” Revelation 3:10

  • Pray that the believers will keep God’s Commands and endure patiently in their sufferings.

“The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.” Revelation 3:12

“saying: “Amen!
Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” Revelation 7:12

  • Pray that the Church will turn to God to praise, thank, honor, and seek him with all of their hearts.

We are continuing to lift these persecuted witnesses to the Lord:

Alice Loksha Ngaddah was kidnapped in February 2019. She is a mother of two, working as a nurse for UNICEF. Pray for her release.

Leah Sharibu prisoner of Boko Haram since 2018. Pray for her release.

Pastor Wang Yi to be released from Chinese prison.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani from Iran. For his release and his family as their persecution continues. Pastor Nadarkhani is serving the second and plus year of his six-year sentence, recently reduced from ten years.

The Harvest

What is Persecution Watch?

Persecution Watch is a U.S. national prayer conference call ministry that prays specifically for the global Persecuted Church. For over a decade, Blaine Scogin led this national network of believers who faithfully pray for the persecuted and the global harvest for the Kingdom of God. The group meets via a free call-in service every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday night at 9pm Eastern time in the United States (please check your time zone). Blaine also served as Prayer Director for Voice of the Persecuted, and the missions became one. Brother Blaine passed into glory on December 26, 2019. It was truly a blessing for all of us to serve alongside this dear man of God and he will be greatly missed. The prayer mission of Persecution Watch remains an important part of our mission. Voice of the Persecuted is committed to continue the prayer conference call for the persecuted along with the dedicated Persecution Watch prayer warrior team.

Prior to the passing of Brother Blaine, he confirmed the passing of the torch as prayer conference call leader to Nadia Dybvik. Nadia has a burdened heart for the persecuted and is a prayer warrior standing in the gap for them. She joined the Persecution Watch prayer team in 2013 and has been part of the core ever since. Before becoming the prayer call leader, she served in the role of prayer moderator since 2015. Blaine chose Nadia for her faithfulness to pray for the persecuted and her strong commitment to the Persecution Watch mission. We are blessed not only with her gift of prayer, but her genuine love for every brother and sister in Christ that comes on the call to pray. May the Lord continue to bless Nadia and the prayer team in the mission and their personal lives.

“Pray for us” is the number one request that we hear from the persecuted. As the members of the first century Church were moved by the Holy Spirit to pray, we too must continue to serve those suffering persecution by lifting them up to the Lord through prayer.

On occasion, persecuted brothers and sisters have been invited on the conference call to share the trials they are facing. The team serves to encourage them by washing their feet in Spirit led prayer. Time is often reserved for those on the call to ask questions. We believe this helps to gain a better understanding of the situation that persecuted Christians endure in their specific nations. Q&A also helps us to focus our prayers based on their current needs.

Persecution Watch also hosts callers who want to pray united from other nations. If your heart is perplexed by the sufferings of our persecuted brothers and sisters, you no longer need to pray alone.

We welcome all who desire to pray for the persecuted church and consider it a joy to pray together with you. If you are new to the call and cannot find your voice, listen in and pray silently or on mute. We are grateful and thank the Lord for bringing us all together to pray in agreement for our persecuted family in Christ. We can all be prayer warriors on this call!

God bless and protect you in your faithfulness to serve.

Persecution Watch: Prayers for Ukraine

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Thursday, January 12, 2022 in a prayer conference call for the persecuted church hosted by Persecution Watch.

Ukraine: Population: 45,3 million – today 41 million(?), Christian 78%

The Ukraine used to be the Bible belt of the Soviet sphere, looking back at a rich Christian heritage. Churches suffered greatly until the Ukraine gained independence and then was open to many evangelical church plants. As you are aware Russia attacked the Ukraine in early 2022 and the nation is now fighting for survival.

  • Please pray to the Lord that He will guide president Zelensky to negotiate an end to the war.
  • Please pray to the Lord that He will touch Putin in a very special, to put it on his heart and mind to end hostilities against the Ukraine.
  • Please pray to the Lord for a cease fire to be observed and honored by both sides.
  • Please pray to the Lord that there will be an adequate supply of medication and that doctors and nurses will not experience any shortages.
  • Pray to the Lord that He will give the Ukrainian forces the ability to supernaturally destroy drones before they reach their targets.
  • Pray to the Lord that He will protect and strengthen Ukrainian soldiers defending their homeland.
  • Pray to the Lord that He will continue to give the Ukrainian military favor to receive advance information of planned Russian attacks.
  • Pray that the remaining civilians have heating material to stay warm during the winter month, as well as electricity and food.
  • Pray for the internally displaced people to have adequate shelter and provisions.
  • Pray for the Women and their children who miss the covering of their husbands and must navigate through a different culture and unfamiliar language.
  • Pray that the Lord will comfort and give strength to the women who don’t know the whereabouts of their husbands, who are troubled not knowing if their loved ones are healthy, wounded or killed in action.
  • Pray for the Christian churches who minister to a multitude of internal refugees.
  • Pray for the Christian missionaries who tirelessly provide spiritual, medical and food support.
  • Pray for the NGO’s and like organizations not to become weary or defeated and continue to maintain the compassionate support for the people in the Ukraine. Pray for generous donors.
  • Pray to the Lord that He will bless the Pastors and saints who have restarted churches in the towns that sustained heavy damage during the fighting.
  • Pray to the Lord that His church will emerge as a strong and vital force, a strong beacon of light in these troubled times.

Again, we want to lift these persecuted witnesses to the Lord:

  • Leah Sharibu, a prisoner of Boko Haram since 2018, pray for her release.
  • Alice Loksha Ngaddah, kidnapped February 2019. She is a mother of two, working as a nurse for UNICEF. Pray for her release.
  • Pray For Pastor Wang Yi to be released from prison.
  • Pray for Anita to make an easy transition into her new culture and that the Lord will be gracious in bringing her family members where they too will be able to freely worship our Lord without fear.
  • For the release of Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani from Iran, and his family as their persecution continues. Pastor Nadarkhani is serving the second year of his six-year sentence, recently reduced from ten years.

  • “I am sending you, to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me” (Acts 26:18)

Persecution Watch: Praying for Ukraine

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Thursday June 9, 2022 in a prayer conference call for the persecuted church hosted by Persecution Watch.

Ukraine: Population: Approx. 45 million, Christians approx.. 35 million

Ukraine-Russia war: As losses mount, how long can they keep up the battle?

Ukraine had around 250,000 soldiers before the Russian invasion, but its government hasn’t said how many have died fighting Vladimir Putin’s military. .

As soon as they had finished burying a veteran colonel killed by Russian shelling, the cemetery workers readied the next hole. Inevitably, given how quickly death is felling Ukrainian troops on the front lines, the grave won’t stay empty for long.

Col. Oleksandr Makhachek left behind a widow, Elena, and their daughters Olena and Myroslava-Oleksandra. In the first 100 days of war, his grave was the 40th dug in the military cemetery in Zhytomyr, 90 miles west of the capital, Kyiv.

He was killed May 30 in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine, where the fighting is raging. Nearby, the burial notice on the also freshly dug grave of Viacheslav Dvornitskyi says he died May 27. Other graves also showed soldiers killed within days of each other — on May 10, 9, 7 and 5. And this is just one cemetery, in just one of Ukraine’s cities, towns and villages laying soldiers to rest.

  • Pray to the Lord that He will supernaturally put an end to the fighting in the Ukraine.
  1. Cease fire
  2. Armistice and negotiations
  • Pray for a change in the Russian Government, for Putin and the Hawks to be replaced by leaders seeking to end the conflict.
  • Pray that the Lord to give wisdom and discernment and to guide the steps of the Ukrainian government
  • Pray the Lord that He will continue to give Ukrainian forces advance information on Russian plans and actions.
  • Pray to the Lord to that He will continue to trouble, blind the Russian military with miscommunication, detrimental orders and sending soldiers in the wrong direction.
  • Pray that the Lord’s hand is on the Christian soldiers to be protected and not become discouraged.
  • Pray for the Chaplains in the Ukrainian army to remain strong in faith as they minister in hospitals and on the field.
  1. one of our chaplains lost 22 people in the last 30 days
  2. to comfort the mothers and children in the face of death
  • Pray that the Lord will make His presence felt to all the believers who lost loved ones.
  • Pray for churches in the Western Ukraine who minister to refugees
  • Pray for the refugees to not only find shelter but also Christian as well as trauma counseling.
  • Pray for the protection of aid workers who bring in medication and food – disregarding their safety.
  • Pray to the Lord Jesus Christ that all the people will realize their only peace is with HIM that they will turn to Him.

Again, we want to lift up these persecuted witnesses to the Lord:

  • Leah Sharibu, prisoner of Boko Haram since 2018. Pray for her release.
  • Alice Loksha Ngaddah, kidnapped February 2019. She is a mother of two, working as a nurse for UNICEF. Pray for her release.
  • Pray for Pastor Wang Yi to be released from prison.

  • For the release of Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani from Iran, and his family as their Persecution continues. Pastor Nadarkhani is serving the second year of his six-year sentence.

Praying for Ukraine with Brother Michael

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for a prayer conference call for Ukraine, hosted by Persecution Watch.

The Russian Invasion into Ukraine has entered a new phase. The emphasis has shifted away from the capital City of Kyiv to the eastern provinces, to controlling Ukrainian territory from the Crimea to Luhansk in the Donbas region. Long range goal to get Ukraine excluded from Black Sea ports and deprive them of the Eastern provinces with their energy rich lands. Making the rest of Ukraine insignificant.

Please pray to the Father that He will protect President Zelensky and his cabinet from Russian military forces.

Pray that the Ukrainians are earnestly seeking the Lord in prayer.

Pray to the Lord that He will give the Ukrainian fighters favor, showing them how to stop the Russian aggression.

Pray that the Lord will trouble the commanding Russian leaders with lost instructions and confusing as well as contradictory orders.

Pray that the Lord that the Ukrainian military will continue to receive advance intelligence on Russian plans and movements.

Pray that the Lord will strengthen and sustain all relief workers who have been working nonstop to answer the needs of the Ukrainian people.

Pray to the Lord that the “West” stays focused on Ukraine, does not get weary and that public opinion moves on.

Pray to the Lord that Ukrainian refugees will continue to be welcomed, and the Nations will not become weary by the multitudes seeking food and shelter.

Pray to the Lord to comfort the families who were torn apart by the war from their husbands not knowing how they are doing and will they come through this alive.

Pray to the Lord to give the opposition in Russia more visibility, or a way out of the country.

Lord we humbly ask, that You the Great almighty God, will put an end to this war and all the misery it causes.

Please join us on the prayer conference call, tonight.

Praying for Ukraine with Brother Andy

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in a prayer conference call for Ukraine and the Persecuted Church hosted by Persecution Watch.

Ukraine

  • Pray that the Prince of Peace will resolve the conflict in the Ukraine and protect innocent lives.
  • Pray to God to frustrate the plans of the enemy and hold him in derision. May every attempt he makes to progress destruction and death will turn against him.
  • Pray for God’s comfort for the thousands who are suffering: who are trapped in besieged cities with almost no food, water, light.
  • Pray for the wounded who have lost loved ones. May God be their Defender and their hope.
  • Pray that God would stir His people in Russia to stand for truth at whatever cost. Give hackers and radio broadcast favor to teach the people who are misinformed by state TV and radio.
  • Pray that the Lord will give boldness and courage to Russian officials who are trapped by fear and what it may cost to speak up against Putin.
  • Pray for strength and wisdom for all of Ukrainians: for them not to grow weary in doing good, for their soldiers and leaders of the country to experience God’s strength and wisdom in this time.
  • Please pray to the Father that He will give President Zelensky and his team favor in negotiating a durable ceasefire and withdrawal of Russian troops.
  • Pray that the Ukrainians are earnestly seeking the Lord in prayer.
  • Pray that the Lord will frustrate and trouble the commanding Russian leaders with lost instructions and confusing as well as contradictory orders.
  • Pray that the Ukrainian military will continue to receive advanced intelligence on Russian plans and movements.
  • Pray that all men and women who are staying behind have adequate food and first aid supplies.
  • Pray to the Lord to comfort the families who were torn apart by the war from their husbands not knowing how they are doing and will they come through this alive.
  • Pray, lift up the churches of Eastern Europa who are challenged by supporting incoming refugees.

Praying for Ukraine with Brother Michael

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Sunday March 27, 2022 in a prayer conference call for Ukraine and the Persecuted Church hosted by Persecution Watch.

Psalms 55:9

Lord, confuse the wicked, confound their words, I see violence and strife in the city.

 Psalm 55:16-19

16 As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me.

17 Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.

18 He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me.

19 God, who is enthroned from of old, who does not change—he will hear them and humble them, because they have no fear of God.

Please Pray

A Russian general suggests that Russia only wants the Donetsk region that they have occupied for 8 years.

  • Pray Russia decides to stop fighting and go home.

Chinese replacement parts won’t work on Navy ships that bring tanks for missiles, will sink or go home. Russian troops are further from the capital than last week.

  • Pray Kyiv remains free.

For leaders to realize they must deal with the consequences of destruction.

  • Pray that the Russian offensive will continue to stall.
  • Pray that Russian missiles won’t fire, tanks break down, planes have electrical problems.
  • Pray invading machinery will not work except when returning home.
  • Pray that the Lord will confuse the Russian leaders, like He did for Gideon.
  • Pray for safety for President Zelensky and his cabinet, and their families.
  • Pray against the spirit of brutality and the spirit of killing.
  • Pray that Ukrainians earnestly seek the Lord in prayer.
  • Pray that the people who stayed in Ukraine, have adequate food and medical supplies.

Isaiah 45:8a

“Open up, O heavens, and pour out your righteousness …

  • Pray that Ukraine would have superiority over their sky-no Russian planes, Ukraine able to fly everything.

Russia bombed Liev, Ukraine’s hub for supplies and refugees in the West.

  • Pray that Western Ukraine remains a safe place.

Isa 40:28-31

” Have you not known?

Have you not heard?

The everlasting God, the LORD,

The Creator of the ends of the earth,

Neither faints nor is weary.

His understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the weak,

And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary,

And the young men shall utterly fall,

But those who wait on the LORD

Shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary,

They shall walk and not faint.
