Praying for Ukraine with Brother Andy

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in a prayer conference call for Ukraine and the Persecuted Church hosted by Persecution Watch.

Ukraine

  • Pray that the Prince of Peace will resolve the conflict in the Ukraine and protect innocent lives.
  • Pray to God to frustrate the plans of the enemy and hold him in derision. May every attempt he makes to progress destruction and death will turn against him.
  • Pray for God’s comfort for the thousands who are suffering: who are trapped in besieged cities with almost no food, water, light.
  • Pray for the wounded who have lost loved ones. May God be their Defender and their hope.
  • Pray that God would stir His people in Russia to stand for truth at whatever cost. Give hackers and radio broadcast favor to teach the people who are misinformed by state TV and radio.
  • Pray that the Lord will give boldness and courage to Russian officials who are trapped by fear and what it may cost to speak up against Putin.
  • Pray for strength and wisdom for all of Ukrainians: for them not to grow weary in doing good, for their soldiers and leaders of the country to experience God’s strength and wisdom in this time.
  • Please pray to the Father that He will give President Zelensky and his team favor in negotiating a durable ceasefire and withdrawal of Russian troops.
  • Pray that the Ukrainians are earnestly seeking the Lord in prayer.
  • Pray that the Lord will frustrate and trouble the commanding Russian leaders with lost instructions and confusing as well as contradictory orders.
  • Pray that the Ukrainian military will continue to receive advanced intelligence on Russian plans and movements.
  • Pray that all men and women who are staying behind have adequate food and first aid supplies.
  • Pray to the Lord to comfort the families who were torn apart by the war from their husbands not knowing how they are doing and will they come through this alive.
  • Pray, lift up the churches of Eastern Europa who are challenged by supporting incoming refugees.

Andy, Persecution Watch Prayer Call Moderator

Again, we want to lift up these persecuted witnesses to the Lord:

  • Leah Sharibu, prisoner of Boko Haram since 2018. Pray for her release.
  • Alice Loksha Ngaddah, kidnapped February 2019. She is a mother of two, working as a nurse for UNICEF. Pray for her release.
  • Pray for Pastor Wang Yi to be released from prison.
  • Pray for Anita, a Christian convert facing a long prison term who escaped from Iran and praying to go to a country where she can express her faith openly.
  • For the release of Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani from Iran, and his family as their Persecution continues. Pastor Nadarkhani is serving the second year of his six-year sentence.

What is Persecution Watch?

Persecution Watch is a U.S. national prayer conference call ministry that prays specifically for the global Persecuted Church. For over a decade, Blaine Scogin led this national network of believers who faithfully pray for the persecuted and the global harvest for the Kingdom of God. The group meets via a free call-in service every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday night at 9pm Eastern time in the United States (please check your time zone). Blaine also served as Prayer Director for Voice of the Persecuted, and the missions became one. Brother Blaine passed into glory on December 26, 2019. It was truly a blessing for all of us to serve alongside this dear man of God and he will be greatly missed. The prayer mission of Persecution Watch remains an important part of our mission. Voice of the Persecuted is committed to continue the prayer conference call for the persecuted along with the dedicated Persecution Watch prayer warrior team.

Prior to the passing of Brother Blaine, he confirmed the passing of the torch as prayer conference call leader to Nadia Dybvik. Nadia has a burdened heart for the persecuted and is a prayer warrior standing in the gap for them. She joined the Persecution Watch prayer team in 2013 and has been part of the core ever since. Before becoming the prayer call leader, she served in the role of prayer moderator since 2015. Blaine chose Nadia for her faithfulness to pray for the persecuted and her strong commitment to the Persecution Watch mission. We are blessed not only with her gift of prayer, but her genuine love for every brother and sister in Christ that comes on the call to pray. May the Lord continue to bless Nadia and the prayer team in the mission and their personal lives.

“Pray for us” is the number one request that we hear from the persecuted. As the members of the first century Church were moved by the Holy Spirit to pray, we too must continue to serve those suffering persecution by lifting them up to the Lord through prayer.

On occasion, persecuted brothers and sisters have been invited on the conference call to share the trials they are facing. The team serves to encourage them by washing their feet in Spirit led prayer. Time is often reserved for those on the call to ask questions. We believe this helps to gain a better understanding of the situation that persecuted Christians endure in their specific nations. Q&A also helps us to focus our prayers based on their current needs.

Persecution Watch also hosts callers who want to pray united from other nations. If your heart is perplexed by the sufferings of our persecuted brothers and sisters, you no longer need to pray alone.

We welcome all who desire to pray for the persecuted church and consider it a joy to pray together with you. If you are new to the call and cannot find your voice, listen in and pray silently or on mute. We are grateful and thank the Lord for bringing us all together to pray in agreement for our persecuted family in Christ. We can all be prayer warriors on this call!

God bless and protect you in your faithfulness to serve.

Praying for Ukraine with Brother Michael

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Sunday March 27, 2022 in a prayer conference call for Ukraine and the Persecuted Church hosted by Persecution Watch.

Psalms 55:9

Lord, confuse the wicked, confound their words, I see violence and strife in the city.

 Psalm 55:16-19

16 As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me.

17 Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.

18 He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me.

19 God, who is enthroned from of old, who does not change—he will hear them and humble them, because they have no fear of God.

Please Pray

A Russian general suggests that Russia only wants the Donetsk region that they have occupied for 8 years.

  • Pray Russia decides to stop fighting and go home.

Chinese replacement parts won’t work on Navy ships that bring tanks for missiles, will sink or go home. Russian troops are further from the capital than last week.

  • Pray Kyiv remains free.

For leaders to realize they must deal with the consequences of destruction.

  • Pray that the Russian offensive will continue to stall.
  • Pray that Russian missiles won’t fire, tanks break down, planes have electrical problems.
  • Pray invading machinery will not work except when returning home.
  • Pray that the Lord will confuse the Russian leaders, like He did for Gideon.
  • Pray for safety for President Zelensky and his cabinet, and their families.
  • Pray against the spirit of brutality and the spirit of killing.
  • Pray that Ukrainians earnestly seek the Lord in prayer.
  • Pray that the people who stayed in Ukraine, have adequate food and medical supplies.

Isaiah 45:8a

 “Open up, O heavens, and pour out your righteousness …

  • Pray that Ukraine would have superiority over their sky-no Russian planes, Ukraine able to fly everything.

Russia bombed Liev, Ukraine’s hub for supplies and refugees in the West.

  • Pray that Western Ukraine remains a safe place.

Isa 40:28-31

” Have you not known?

Have you not heard?

The everlasting God, the LORD,

The Creator of the ends of the earth,

Neither faints nor is weary.

His understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the weak,

And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary,

And the young men shall utterly fall,

But those who wait on the LORD

Shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary,

They shall walk and not faint.

Praying for the Persecuted and Ukraine

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Thursday, March 17, 2022 in a prayer conference call for the persecuted church and those suffering in Ukraine. Hosted by Persecution Watch.

Ukraine: Population: 44 million, Christian 76 %

With independence in 1991 Ukraine was dominated and fought over for centuries by a succession of powers. Although political freedom came to all in 1991, a small but powerful group of men vastly enriched and entrenched themselves. The country experienced strife by people wanting to link with Russia and those looking to the westward for their future. The orange revolution in 2005 gave Ukrainians national dignity, freedom of press and open political systems, but infighting and rivalries are crippling progress. Promises of rooting out corruption have brought little fruit as it is deeply embedded.

Prayer Points

  • Please pray to the Father that He will protect President Zelensky and his cabinet from Russian military forced.
  • Pray that the Ukrainians are earnestly seeking the Lord in prayer.
  • Please pray to the Lord to lead President Zelensky through His Holy Spirit to successfully negotiate with his Russian counterparts. Praying for a breakthrough to get tangible results.
  • Pray to the Lord that He will protect all Christians.
  • Pray to the Lord that tanks and rocket launchers get stuck in traffic and are subject to crippling breakdowns.
  • Pray to the Lord that Russian equipment will break down and stall advancement.
  • Pray that the Lord will trouble the commanding Russian leaders with lost instructions and confusing as well as contradictory orders.
  • Strike the Russian soldiers with a spirit of frustration and failure.
  • Pray that the Lord that the Ukrainian military will continue to receive advance intelligence on Russian plans and movements.
  • Pray to the Lord to hold His hand over, protect the nuclear power plants from releasing radioactive substances.
  • Pray to the Lord that much needed medication will reach the hospitals which by now are running low on supplies.
  • Pray that all men and women who are staying behind have adequate food and first aid supplies.
  • Pray that the Lord will work a miracle that many civilians can escape. Blind and confuse the Russians so escape roads will open up.
  • Pray to the Lord that Ukrainian refugees will continue to be welcomed at the border and find both food and shelter.
  • Pray to the Lord to comfort the families who were torn apart by the war from their husbands not knowing how they are doing and will they come through this alive.
  • Pray to the Lord to give the opposition in Russia more visibility – like the anti war protester on a pro Kremlin news channel. That the censors are unable to suppress the truth.
  • Lord we humbly ask, that You the great almighty God will not allow Russia to defeat and take over the Ukraine.

Prayer Conference Call for Ukraine

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Friday March 4, 2022 in a prayer conference call for Ukraine and the persecuted church hosted by Persecution Watch.

Dear Prayers Warriors we have been asked to pray as the war against Ukraine continues.

Psalms 54

1 O God, save me by your name,
    and vindicate me by your might.

O God, hear my prayer;
    give ear to the words of my mouth.

For strangers have risen against me;
    ruthless men seek my life;
    they do not set God before themselves. Selah

Behold, God is my helper;
    the Lord is the upholder of my life.

He will return the evil to my enemies;
    in your faithfulness put an end to them.

With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;
    I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good.

For he has delivered me from every trouble,
    and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.

We have come to know that the Europe’s largest nuclear plant in southeastern Ukraine, has been hit by the Russians. The plant supplies about 25% of the country’s energy.

Andriy Tuz, a spokesperson for the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, told Ukrainian television that Russian shelling had hit one of the plant’s reactors and set it on fire. While the reactor was not operating at the time that it was struck, it does contain nuclear material. The Fire has been contained.

Ukraine was also the site of the worst nuclear disaster in history at the Chernobyl nuclear energy plant in 1986 when the country was under control of the Soviet Union. That site was captured by the Russians earlier in the invasion of Ukraine.

  • Pray for the new government in Kyiv that they would have wisdom to know how deal a failing economy and with groups who oppose them in Eastern Ukraine.”
  • Pray for churches, especially in Eastern Ukraine, that they would exhibit the love of Christ be an example of how Russians and Ukrainians can coexist!
  • Pray for the Ukrainian people that there would be reconciliation and forgiveness between pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian groups.
  • Pray for families as they struggle to provide for basic needs because of a failing economy and high inflation.
  • Pray for Ukrainian soldiers, as many have family and friends in Eastern Ukraine and Russia. Pray that there would be no bloodshed.
  • Pray for missionaries that God would give them wisdom to best know how to help their brothers and sisters in Christ during this critical time.
  • Pray for church leaders they would take every opportunity to proclaim the peace that Jesus offers and that they would not be limited in their freedoms to preach the Gospel.

The Lord’s servant

Persecution Watch: Praying for Believers in Ukraine

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Thursday, March 3, 2022 in a prayer conference call for the persecuted church hosted by Persecution Watch.

  • Please pray to the Father that He will convict President Putin of his aggressive war on Ukraine.
  • Pray that the Lord will trouble and confuse the commanding military leaders.
  • Pray to the Lord for create opposition in Russia against the act of aggression against the Ukraine
  • Pray to the Lord that Russian equipment will break down and stall advancement.
  • Pray that the Russian offensive will stall and implode.
  • Pray that the people in Ukraine will pray for forgiveness of all the acts that offend you such as abortion, gay marriage and so on.
  • Pray to the Lord that He will give the Ukrainian freedom fighters both protection and wisdom in trying to stop the enemy.
  • Pray to the Lord that the Hospitals have sufficient medication, doctors and nurses to tend to the wounded.
  • Pray to the Lord to provide for adequate food supplies.
  • Pray to the Lord that the displaced people, the refugees will not lack for food and shelter.
  • Pray to the Lord that the nations who stand in solidarity with the Ukraine will not falter and actively support and continue to support the Ukraine.
  • Lord we humbly ask, that You the great almighty God will not allow Russia to defeat and take over the Ukraine.

Tonight: Prayer Conference Call for Ukraine

(Voice of the Persecuted) You are invited to join us on Wednesday March 2, 2022 in a prayer conference call for Ukraine and the persecuted church hosted by Persecution Watch.

Dear Prayer Warriors, the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine has asked for Christians to recite Psalm 31 aloud. Ukraine has a sizable Jewish minority of at least 50,000 people. Historically the Jewish people have faced a lot of persecution under Russian rule.

“Into Your Hand I Commit My Spirit”

31 In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;
    let me never be put to shame;
    in your righteousness deliver me!
Incline your ear to me;
    rescue me speedily!
Be a rock of refuge for me,
    a strong fortress to save me!

For you are my rock and my fortress;
    and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me;
you take me out of the net they have hidden for me,
    for you are my refuge.
Into your hand I commit my spirit;
    you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.

I hate those who pay regard to worthless idols,
    but I trust in the Lord.
I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love,
    because you have seen my affliction;
    you have known the distress of my soul,
and you have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy;
    you have set my feet in a broad place.

Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress;
    my eye is wasted from grief;
    my soul and my body also.
10 For my life is spent with sorrow,
    and my years with sighing;
my strength fails because of my iniquity,
    and my bones waste away.

11 Because of all my adversaries I have become a reproach,
    especially to my neighbors,
and an object of dread to my acquaintances;
    those who see me in the street flee from me.
12 I have been forgotten like one who is dead;
    I have become like a broken vessel.
13 For I hear the whispering of many—
    terror on every side!—
as they scheme together against me,
    as they plot to take my life.

14 But I trust in you, O Lord;
    I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in your hand;
    rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!
16 Make your face shine on your servant;
    save me in your steadfast love!
17 O Lord, let me not be put to shame,
    for I call upon you;
let the wicked be put to shame;
    let them go silently to Sheol.
18 Let the lying lips be mute,
    which speak insolently against the righteous
    in pride and contempt.

19 Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
    which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
    in the sight of the children of mankind!
20 In the cover of your presence you hide them
    from the plots of men;
you store them in your shelter
    from the strife of tongues.

21 Blessed be the Lord,
    for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me
    when I was in a besieged city.
22 I had said in my alarm,
    “I am cut off from your sight.”
But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy
    when I cried to you for help.

23 Love the Lord, all you his saints!
    The Lord preserves the faithful
    but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride.
24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
    all you who wait for the Lord!

We are continuing to lift up these persecuted witnesses to the Lord:

  • Leah Sharibu, prisoner of Boko Haram since 2018. Pray for her release.
  • Alice Loksha Ngaddah, kidnapped February 2019. She is a mother of two, working as a nurse for UNICEF. Pray for her release.
  • Pray for Pastor Wang Yi to be released from prison.

The Harvest

“I am sending you, to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me” (Acts 26:18)
