Event Today! Join the Prayer Conference Call for the Persecuted Church

Voice of the Persecuted, in partnership with Persecution Watch, will host an open 12 hour prayer conference call to mobilize Christians to unite in prayer for those suffering for their faith in Christ during the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP2019 Persecuted but not abandoned). The call begins at 9 a.m. Eastern and will continue throughout the day until 9 p.m on Sunday, Nov. 3rd. The call is open to all with a desire to pray for those facing extreme hardships for their faith in Christ. Callers are not required to remain on the call for the full twelve offers, but encouraged to sacrifice some time to join the call and band together in prayer.

Godfrey Yogarajah, Executive Director of WEA RLC states,

“Millions of Christians around the world are persecuted for their faith daily. From Pakistan to Kazakhstan, Nigeria to North Korea, Christians routinely face discrimination, harassment, violence and even death for their faith in Jesus. Their suffering is unimaginable.

The Bible in Hebrews 13:3 command Christians to pray for those suffering as if they themselves were suffering. In other words, the Bible calls us to not only remember those who suffer but also to identify with them in their suffering. In keeping with this scriptural command, the International Days of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP) has united millions of Christians in prayer for the suffering Body of Christ around the world. After all, as the Bible says: If one suffers, we all suffer.

Over the years, the IDOP has served as a platform to highlight the stories of persecuted Christians and mobilise the global Church to respond to their plight. Moreover, in so doing, the IDOP has also been a source of solidarity and encouragement to persecuted Christians by reminding them that they are part of a larger, global family of believers.

We believe that God uses the prayers of his people to strengthen and deliver suffering saints. However, in order to pray for these suffering brothers and sisters, we must first listen to their stories. In other words, we must hear their cry.

We invite you, therefore, to join us this year on 3rd and 10th November as we unite globally to pray for the persecuted. Let’s pray that in spite of the pressure and persecution, our suffering brothers and sisters –where ever they may be in the world — would stand firm in their faith, hold fast to the promises of God, and live victoriously in Christ.”

Blaine Scogin, Founder of Persecution Watch and Prayer Director of Voice of the Persecuted shared,

“Brothers and Sisters, in this final hour of redemptive history, we see the forces of Satan marshaling against the followers of Jesus. Persecution continues to increase in a frequency which has not been seen previously in history. Satan has declared an all out war on the followers of Jesus and if possible seeks to destroy them.

But God has given to us powerful weapons that are not of this world. We recognize those weapons as the word of God and prayer. Imagine the power of using His word as we pray. Through the Holy Spirit, we can pray powerful prayers to uphold our persecuted family.

God has placed us in the freedom of America. We are able to cry out for those who cannot cry out for themselves. The persecuted in the shadow of the cross pray of course, but they also have a heartfelt plea, Please pray that we will ‘endure’ the persecutions and that God will deliver us ‘through’ the persecutions.”

Sunday, November 3rd, is designated the first of two days IDOP2019 will be observed this month. Believers around the world will be lifting up our persecuted family and we want to join with them lifting our prayers also on behalf of those suffering.”

What is Persecution Watch?

Persecution Watch is a U.S. national prayer conference call ministry that prays specifically for the global Persecuted Church. For over a decade, Blaine Scogin has led this national network of believers who faithfully pray for the persecuted and the global harvest for the Kingdom of God. The group meets via a free call-in service every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night at 9pm Eastern (please check your time zone). Blaine also serves as Prayer Director for Voice of the Persecuted.

On occasion, persecuted brothers and sisters have been invited on the call to share the trials they’re facing. The team serves to encourage them by washing their feet in Spirit led prayer. Time is often reserved for those on the call to ask questions. We believe this helps to gain a better understanding of the situation that persecuted Christians endure in their specific nations. Q&A also helps us to focus our prayers based on their current needs.

Persecution Watch also hosts callers who want to pray united from other nations. If your heart is perplexed by the sufferings of our persecuted brothers and sisters, you no longer need to pray alone. We welcome all who desire to pray for the persecuted church and consider it a joy to pray together with you. If you’re new to the call and can’t find your voice, listen in and pray silently or on mute. We are grateful and thank the Lord for bringing us all together to pray in agreement for our persecuted family in Christ.

Thank you for being part of our (1st of 2) IDOP call event

Dear Brothers and sisters, I would like to thank each and everyone of you who came and prayed on the IDOP call, this past Sunday.  I also would like to thank those who came and shared what God is doing in their respective ministries regarding the persecuted and the global harvest of souls. A special thank you to the persecuted brethren who spoke with us, answered questions and allowed us to pray with them.
.
Our prayers did strike a blow for the kingdom of God and pushed back the kingdom of darkness. Our persecuted brothers and sisters were very encouraged knowing that saints were praying for them around the world.
.
However, the devil did not like what we were doing. In the midst of our prayers a tragedy occurred at a church in Texas. As we were praying for our persecuted brothers and sisters, word came that a gunman had taken the lives of over two dozen people at a baptist church in Texas. Thankfully, we were already mobilized in prayer and spent much time praying into this tragic situation.
.
This underscores, more than ever, the need to keep praying not only for our persecuted brothers and sisters, but to keep praying for the church in America.
.
As in the past, we offer 2 opportunities to unite together for the IDOP.  Lord willing, we will join again next Sunday, Nov. 12 to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters during our second call for the International Day of Prayer.  If you are so led by the Spirit please come and join us and lift up your prayers on behalf of our persecuted brethren.
.
Again, thank you to each and everyone of you who participated in some way for praying for the persecuted this past Sunday. My love is with each and everyone of you.
.
Your brother in Christ,
Blaine Scogin

BreakPoint: International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Thank you to Eric Metaxas & Stan Guthrie @ Break Point for recognizing the persecuted church and the Voice of the Persecuted ministry.

More Christians are persecuted today than ever before. Which is why we need to join in the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.

On a sunny day last May, several families climbed onto a couple of buses, happily looking forward to visiting a monastery together.

They never made it. Instead, half of them, including ten children, were slaughtered. You see, these families were Egyptian Christians.

Islamic terrorists dressed in military fatigues stopped the… read more

IDOP 2017: Let Us Be On Their Side

(Voice of the PersecutedPersecution is real! It can be overwhelming, or even frightening, when learning of all the suffering persecuted  Christians experience across the globe, today. When their most dire request is prayer, how do we Pray?

Some of the prayer requests we often hear are,

  • For endurance to persevere
  • They ask for courage, and strength to face the day.
  • To be comforted and that their immediate needs be met.
  • They ask for those who can help to be guided by the Holy Spirit.

When earnestly praying before the Throne of God, He hears and know’s your heart for the persecuted. We may never witness it, but be assured He’s responding to your prayers for the good of our persecuted family in Christ.

Brothers and Sisters, on Sunday 11/5/17 and Sunday 11/12/17 we will have an opportunity to join with millions of other believers around the world lifting up prayers for our persecuted brethren. These two Sundays will be observed as the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP 2017)

“Let us be on the side of those who sit in jails and are sentenced to death for their faith. Let us pray for them and help them.”…Richard Wurmbrandt
“Our prayers can go where we cannot…there are no borders, no prison walls, no doors that are closed to us when we pray.”…….
Brother Andrew
 .
Below are some suggested prayer points to pray for those who are in the shadow of the cross.

2… That the Holy Spirit would strengthen the persecuted believers…
Ephesians 3:14-21

3… That the persecuted would know how to share the gospel…Ecodus 4:12

4… Pray that persecuted believers will see Christ in deeper ways… Philippians 3:7-11

5… Pray that persecuted Believers will know how much God loves them…Romans 8: 38 – 39.

6… That persecuted believers will fearlessly tell others about Jesus…Ephesians 6:18-19

7… Please pray that Christ will soften the hearts of their persecutors…Matthew 5:44

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted (IDOP 2017) Conference Call Event

IDOP 2017 Prayer Conference Call Event

Come pray with us! International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted IDOP 2017 Conference Call Events.

Dear Brothers and Sisters

The Apostle John wrote about a war that Satan is declaring on the Saints.

So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 12:17

Paul describes this as a spiritual war and he exhorts the believers to stand strong in the Lord.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:10-13

Spiritual Warfare

John and Paul understood the spiritual war to be manifested in persecution as they suffered for their faith in Jesus. John was exiled and imprisoned on the island of Patmos. Paul was imprisoned and beheaded.

Two thousand years later the war continues. Satan is still waging war against the faithful, which is clearly evident, through increasing persecution of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. They, who are in the shadow of the cross, who dare to stand for Him.

This raging storm, our persecuted family faces, is that spiritual war. One that cannot be fought with fleshly means. For this is a war against demonic forces that can only be defeated by spiritual means. It’s a battle to the end that must be waged spiritually with the word of God on our knees in prayer. I recall that Brother Andrew once said that prayer is the battle.

Our brother, Paul wrote in Ephesians exhorting believers to pray for one another.

With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints. Ephesians 6:18

What can we do?

This coming November, individually and corporately, we will have the opportunity to join with millions of other believers around the world to lift up our persecuted family in prayer. The first two Sundays in November (11/5 and 11/12) have been designated as the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP 2017). Persecution Watch and Voice of the Persecuted, in collaboration with International Orality Network and other global ministries(TBA), will unite to host two 12-hour IDOP prayer conference calls for our persecuted family. This is your opportunity to come and pray and be the voice of the persecuted Church through those prayers. Please mark your calendar to stand in the gap and join the calls to lift-up our brothers and sisters suffering for Christ.

We believe prayer works. Stay on the call 5 minutes, 5 hours, or as long as you feel led. Your prayers make a huge difference in the lives of our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.

Meet you on the call!
