4/17/2021 Dear Prayer Warriors, (Voice of the Persecuted) and Persecution Watch invite you to join us, tonight, in a prayer conference call for the persecuted Church.

Praying for children and young people. Teaching our children is of the utmost importance.

Deuteronomy 4:9

“9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.”

Proverbs 22:6

“6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

Psalm 78:1

“6 Start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

Psalm 78:4-7

“4 We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.

5 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, 6 so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. 7 Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.”

  • Pray parents who are Christians would prioritize building the child’s relationship with God.
  • Pray bring them to church and encourage Godly relationships whenever possible; pray would connect with likeminded parents and children.
  • Teach them to read the Word and pray.

Ephesians 6:4

“4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

Proverbs 16:21

“21 The wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction.”

Proverbs 13:24

“24 Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.”

  • Pray for wisdom for parents; would encourage and praise more than rebuke.
  • Pray would know how to disciple their children, not in anger, but in love.
  • That parents would recognize and bring out child’s gifts, talents, etc.

Proverbs 13:1

“13 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.”

  • Pray that children would listen to parents’ instruction (if not ungodly).
  • Pray parents would be good examples to their children.

Deuteronomy 7:3-4

“3 Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, 4 for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.”

2 Corinthians 6:14

“14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”

  • Pray will not be seduced and marry unbelievers.
  • Pray will not be yoked to unbelievers in any other way (business, etc.)

1 Timothy 4:12

“12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

  • Pray more mature youth would be able to instruct those less mature, divine appointments.

Proverbs 9:1-12 (wisdom)

“1 Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars. 2 She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table. 3 She has sent out her servants, and she calls from the highest point of the city, 4 “Let all who are simple come to my house!” To those who have no sense she says, 5 “Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. 6 Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.” 7 Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse. 8 Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you. 9 Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11 For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. 12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.”

  • Pray not be seduced by idolatry–sports or sport figures, celebrities, knowledge, etc.
  • Not seduced by drugs or any other addiction.
  • Pray not be seduced by electronic devices.
  • Pray not be seduced by sexual immorality.

Psalm 119:105

“105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

  • Pray would have access to the Word, including children’s Bibles.
  • Pray would have desire to read the Word.
  • Pray for those smuggling Bibles:  protection, provision, etc.

Psalm 68:5

“5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.”

  • Pray for fatherless and orphans; against spirit of rejection; know are accepted in the Lord and that He loves them.
  • Pray for children whose parents have been murdered or in prison.

1 Peter 2:21

“21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”

  • Pray children and young people will not be bitter when persecuted for being Christians.
  • Pray will be able to forgive.

Psalm 18:2

“2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

  • Pray are protected from kidnapping, rape, trafficking.

Psalm 20:4

“4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”

  • Pray God’s purpose would be fulfilled in their lives.

Pray as led by Holy Spirit.

What is Persecution Watch?
Persecution Watch is a U.S. national prayer conference call ministry that prays specifically for the global Persecuted Church. For over a decade, Blaine Scogin led this national network of believers who faithfully pray for the persecuted and the global harvest for the Kingdom of God.

The group meets via a free call-in service every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night at 9pm Eastern (please check your time zone). Blaine also served as Prayer Director for Voice of the Persecuted and our missions became one. The prayer mission of Persecution Watch is an important part of our own.

With the passing of Blaine into glory on December 26, 2019, Voice of the Persecuted is committed to continue the prayer conference call for the persecuted along with our dedicated prayer warrior team.

On occasion, persecuted brothers and sisters have been invited on the call to share the trials they’re facing. The team serves to encourage them by washing their feet in Spirit led prayer.

Time is often reserved for those on the call to ask questions. We believe this helps to gain a better understanding of the situation that persecuted Christians endure in their specific nations. Q&A also helps us to focus our prayers based on their current needs.

Persecution Watch also hosts callers who want to pray united from other nations. If your heart is perplexed by the sufferings of our persecuted brothers and sisters, you no longer need to pray alone. We welcome all who desire to pray for the persecuted church and consider it a joy to pray together with you.

If you’re new to the call and can’t find your voice, listen in and pray silently or on mute. We are grateful and thank the Lord for bringing us all together to pray in agreement for our persecuted family in Christ. We can all be prayer warriors on this call!

NOTE: Persecution Watch has a new email address for the prayer team and those who would like to receive urgent prayer requests, weekly call prayer points and notification of special prayer events and special guest speakers.

Please fill out the form below to be included in our new distribution list to receive this important information. We are grateful for your prayers and to the Lord for guiding us as we continue the Persecution Watch prayer call mission.
