8/22/2020 (Voice of the Persecuted) Dear Prayer Warriors, I came to know of Brother Yun in a book titled, The Heavenly Man, through a dear friend of mine. He was a man that did not know God, who had never heard of Jesus as a child, but has a heart that was changed and transformed by the loving grace of God.
As the Lord calls you to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters and for the Global Harvest, I would like to encourage you with some of Brother Yun’s powerful quotes that the Lord has led me to read.
“When I was younger, I saw God as a mighty healer who did something for me but after all these years of valleys and painful trials Jesus has become an ever-present friend who is with me all the time. He has gone from being a historical God to being a living God to me today. I’ve fallen short many times during these trials and testings, but he has always been faithful. Whenever I’ve asked him to help me, he always has….Jesus is everything and we are nothing.” ~ Brother Yun
“We shouldn’t pray for a lighter load to carry but a stronger back to endure! Then the world will see that God is with us, empowering us to live in a way that reflects his love and power.”
“We never pray against our government or call down curses on them. Instead, we have learned that God is in control both of our own lives and the government we live under. God has used China’s government for His own purposes, molding and shaping His children as He sees fit. Instead of focusing our prayers against any political system, we pray that regardless of what happens to us, we will be pleasing to God.”
“You can never really know the scriptures until you’re willing to be changed by them.”
“On many occasions I have been asked if I think persecution will come to the Western church. My answer might surprise you. I believe that if you find yourself enslaved inside a controlling church structure of legalism and bondage, then you are already being persecuted! So many Christians seem impossibly distracted from hearing God’s voice. Instead of listening to that still, small voice that brings true peace and joy, they blindly follow the voices of mainstream religion. The worst kind of persecution for a Christian is when you are separated from the joy and presence of the Holy Spirit.”
“The world can do nothing to a Christian who has no fear of man.”
“It is not great men who change the world, but weak men in the hands of a great God.”
Lord willing, we will meet tonight and pray for the persecuted church and global harvest on the Persecution Watch conference call. Please join us!
We will also continue to pray for:
➖Leah Sharibu and Alice that they will be set free from Boko Haram captivity.
➖Pastor Wang Yi to be released from prison, for his family, the children, and the church in China.
➖Anita’s release, a Christian convert who received a prison sentence for sharing the Gospel in Iran.
➖The Global Harvest for the Kingdom of God
In Christ love,
Nadia Dybvik, Persecution Watch Prayer Leader

What is Persecution Watch?
Persecution Watch is a U.S. national prayer conference call ministry that prays specifically for the global Persecuted Church. For over a decade, Blaine Scogin led this national network of believers who faithfully pray for the persecuted and the global harvest for the Kingdom of God.
The group meets via a free call-in service every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night at 9pm Eastern (please check your time zone). Blaine also served as Prayer Director for Voice of the Persecuted and our missions became one. The prayer mission of Persecution Watch is an important part of our own.
With the passing of Blaine into glory on December 26, 2019, Voice of the Persecuted is committed to continue the prayer conference call for the persecuted along with our dedicated prayer warrior team.
On occasion, persecuted brothers and sisters have been invited on the call to share the trials they’re facing. The team serves to encourage them by washing their feet in Spirit led prayer.
Time is often reserved for those on the call to ask questions. We believe this helps to gain a better understanding of the situation that persecuted Christians endure in their specific nations. Q&A also helps us to focus our prayers based on their current needs.
Persecution Watch also hosts callers who want to pray united from other nations. If your heart is perplexed by the sufferings of our persecuted brothers and sisters, you no longer need to pray alone. We welcome all who desire to pray for the persecuted church and consider it a joy to pray together with you.
If you’re new to the call and can’t find your voice, listen in and pray silently or on mute. We are grateful and thank the Lord for bringing us all together to pray in agreement for our persecuted family in Christ. We can all be prayer warriors on this call!
NOTE: Persecution Watch has a new email address for the prayer team and those who would like to receive urgent prayer requests, weekly call prayer points and notification of special prayer events and special guest speakers.
