4/18/2020 (Voice of the Persecuted) Join us tonight on the Persecution Watch prayer conference call. Call details below.

Dear Prayer Warriors, we do not come on the Persecution Watch call to pray for the persecuted Church and global harvest and expect not to be changed.

“The devil is perfectly willing that the Church should multiply its organization and its deftly contrived machinery for the conquest of the world for Christ, if it will only give up praying… Satan laughs softly, as he looks at the Church today, and says under his breath: “You can have your Sunday schools, your YMCAs…your grand choirs, and your fine organs, and your brilliant preachers…as long as you do not bring into them the power of Almighty God, sought and obtained by earnest, persistent, believing, mighty prayers.”” ~ R. A. Torrey

“Prayer that is born of meditation upon the Word of God is the prayer that soars upward most easily to God’s listening ears.” ~ R. A. Torrey

“Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouses of God’s. . .grace and power.”

~ R. A. Torrey

“God has not changed; and His ear is just as quick to hear the voice of real prayer, and His hand is just as long and strong to save; as it ever was.” ~ R. A. Torrey

The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy a final charge.

10 You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, 11 persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured.Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. 12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancyyou have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:10-17

Praises to the King our Lord Mighty God

Thank you to all who have been praying for Anita, she was arrested, interrogated, tortured and charged for having a role in the underground house church movement. Anita’s final hearing was held on April 15, 2020.  The court had recommended over 5 years in prison but during the trial the judge seemed to soften towards Anita. He released her to house arrest and said he would send his verdict.

Psalm 117

“1 Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. 2 For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.”

Psalm 118

“1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. 2 Let Israel say:

“His love endures forever.” 3 Let the house of Aaron say: “His love endures forever.” 4 Let those who fear the Lord say: “His love endures forever.””

  • We will continue to pray for Leah Sharibu and Alice, both held captive by the Boko Haram.
  • For Pastor Wanh Yi from China, who has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for sharing boldly the love of God
  • For the persecuted church and global harvest of souls as the Holy Spirit leads us.

Lord willing, I look forward to joining you tonight.

What is Persecution Watch?
Persecution Watch is a U.S. national prayer conference call ministry that prays specifically for the global Persecuted Church. For over a decade, Blaine Scogin led this national network of believers who faithfully pray for the persecuted and the global harvest for the Kingdom of God. The group meets via a free call-in service every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night at 9pm Eastern (please check your time zone). Blaine also served as Prayer Director for Voice of the Persecuted and our missions became one. The prayer mission of Persecution Watch is an important part of our own. With the passing of Blaine into glory on December 26, 2019, Voice of the Persecuted is committed to continue the prayer conference call for the persecuted along with our dedicated prayer warrior team.

On occasion, persecuted brothers and sisters have been invited on the call to share the trials they’re facing. The team serves to encourage them by washing their feet in Spirit led prayer. Time is often reserved for those on the call to ask questions. We believe this helps to gain a better understanding of the situation that persecuted Christians endure in their specific nations. Q&A also helps us to focus our prayers based on their current needs.

Persecution Watch also hosts callers who want to pray united from other nations. If your heart is perplexed by the sufferings of our persecuted brothers and sisters, you no longer need to pray alone. We welcome all who desire to pray for the persecuted church and consider it a joy to pray together with you. If you’re new to the call and can’t find your voice, listen in and pray silently or on mute. We are grateful and thank the Lord for bringing us all together to pray in agreement for our persecuted family in Christ. We can all be prayer warriors on this call!

NOTE: Persecution Watch has a new email address for the prayer team and those who would like to receive urgent prayer requests, weekly call prayer points and notification of special prayer events and special guest speakers. Please fill out the form below to be included in our new distribution list to receive this important information. Since the passing of Brother Blaine Scogin, we thank you for your patience as we have transitioned into this new season. We are grateful for your prayers and to the Lord for guiding us as we continue the Persecution Watch prayer call mission.
