(Voice of the Persecuted) Dear Intercessors, the Bible, the Word of the Lord, regarding Final Instructions,
12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil.
23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us. 26 Greet all God’s people with a holy kiss. 27 I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters.
28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28

As the coronavirus spreads across the globe, Christians in the West are facing unprecedented questions. How can we continue meeting together when we are forced into isolation? What does it mean to have fellowship with one another via online tools? How can we continue in our calls to make disciples and love one another well in the face of crisis?
While these questions are new to us in the West, they are questions [that] the church in China has been wrestling with for a while – not just in their battle with COVID-19, but for years in the fires of persecution. The answers they have developed, churches in the West deserve to hear.
As America deals with COVID-19 in the coming months, China Partnership will be sharing resources from Chinese pastors, thinkers, and laypeople as they grapple with this and other trials. They have put together a page of resources devoted to articles on COVID-19. It will continue to be updated to be a valuable resource to the body of Christ in these difficult times.
As we look at and learn from our Chinese brothers and sisters through their perseverance, we are encouraged to stand with them for all our brothers and sisters. And, not only for us going through this epidemic, but also to stand against persecution by boldly sharing the Truth of Salvation and to pray for one another as the Lord commanded us to do.
Tonight, on our Persecuted Watch
- We will continue to lift up our dear precious Leah Sharibu and Alice, who are continuing to suffer as captives of the Islamic Boko Haram group in Nigeria.
- Also, Pastor Wang Yi from China, who has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for boldly sharing the love of God.
UPDATE: We have been praying for one of the persecuted Christians that Voice of the Persecuted is caring for abroad. She has been very sick and may have the COVID-19 virus. Neda is finally able to get out of bed! She still has a bad cough, body aches, fatigue and chest pain, but feels she is on the road to recovery! She is very grateful for your prayers. Praise and glorify God for this good news!
- For Neda, continued prayer for complete healing.
- For the Harvest.
- That the Father will lead us.
- For our persecuted brothers and sisters, worldwide.
We welcome you as you are led by the Holy Spirit to join us in prayers.

What is Persecution Watch?
Persecution Watch is a U.S. national prayer conference call ministry that prays specifically for the global Persecuted Church. For over a decade, Blaine Scogin led this national network of believers who faithfully pray for the persecuted and the global harvest for the Kingdom of God. The group meets via a free call-in service every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night at 9pm Eastern (please check your time zone). Blaine also served as Prayer Director for Voice of the Persecuted and our missions became one. The prayer mission of Persecution Watch is an important part of our own. With the passing of Blaine into glory on December 26, 2019, Voice of the Persecuted is committed to continue the prayer conference call for the persecuted along with our dedicated prayer warrior team.
On occasion, persecuted brothers and sisters have been invited on the call to share the trials they’re facing. The team serves to encourage them by washing their feet in Spirit led prayer. Time is often reserved for those on the call to ask questions. We believe this helps to gain a better understanding of the situation that persecuted Christians endure in their specific nations. Q&A also helps us to focus our prayers based on their current needs.
Persecution Watch also hosts callers who want to pray united from other nations. If your heart is perplexed by the sufferings of our persecuted brothers and sisters, you no longer need to pray alone. We welcome all who desire to pray for the persecuted church and consider it a joy to pray together with you. If you’re new to the call and can’t find your voice, listen in and pray silently or on mute. We are grateful and thank the Lord for bringing us all together to pray in agreement for our persecuted family in Christ. We can all be prayer warriors on this call!
NOTE: Persecution Watch has a new email address for the prayer team and those who would like to receive urgent prayer requests, weekly call prayer points and notification of special prayer events and special guest speakers. Please fill out the form below to be included in our new distribution list to receive this important information. Since the passing of Brother Blaine Scogin, we thank you for your patience as we have transitioned into this new season. We are grateful for your prayers and to the Lord for guiding us as we continue the Persecution Watch prayer call mission.
