Voice of the Persecuted Prayer Conference Call Event - Hear from and pray for the Persecuted

Voice of the Persecuted Prayer Conference Call Event

Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. Matthew 18:19-20

(Voice of the Persecuted) While praying for persecuted Christians in restricted nations, you may ask, “Are my prayers having any effect?”  It’s not that we doubt the promises of God to hear and likewise answer our prayers, but the response to those prayers are not always immediately obvious.  Indeed, we may never realize the outcome to many of our prayers until we are with Jesus. But be encouraged, God is moving! Occasionally, God gifts us a glimpse of how He moves through our prayers for our persecuted brothers and sisters. I believe He gives us those answers, in His mercy, to encourage us to keep praying for the persecuted, rely on Him and to give Him glory. Oh saints, our Almighty God is a good Father and is right here with us!

How many of us have cried out for the release of Saeed Abedini from the Iranian prison? Many were sure he’d never leave that place alive, but he is back on U.S. soil! It’s a witness to the power of faith and prayer. How many of us have cried out for the health and release of Kenneth Bae in North Korea and the Sudanese Pastors Yat Michael and Peter Yen? What about Father Jacques Murad held captive for more than 140 days by ISIS, but he was able to resist the constant threat to convert to Islam or be decapitated? After he was released, he explained the first week was the hardest and he was torn between fear, anger and shame. He was tortured and believed they would kill him. But through prayer, his own and those of many others, the Lord sustained him.
“Yes, the Lord continues to work marvels—not only in my life but also the in the life of the Church and of suffering Christians in Syria. It is quite certain that my liberation is a miracle, and I believe this.”
We have heard testimonies from our brothers and sisters in Nigeria that our prayers are having a huge impact on them. Indeed, one brother shared on our call that the saints at the camp which Voice of the Persecuted supports can feel our prayers.  During the mission meeting, we were told how grateful they are for our prayers, particularly of protection. While the Boko Haram had attacked other camps, the Christian camps have been protected. That the Lord has shown them favor, answering all the prayers. Praise the Lord, He answers us with miracles!

A few years ago I heard the testimony of a dear sister who escaped from North Korea. She was one of the few believers who had actually endured a North Korean prison.  When asked how she survived.  She said, “I heard the prayers of the saints.”

My brothers and sisters, when we come together in the Holy Spirit, Jesus is in our midst. But also, we are linked to the persecuted by the Holy Spirit. There is a spiritual mystery in which they hear and feel our prayers. Do not doubt, praying truly does make a difference. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. James 5:16

I invite you to join with Voice of the Persecuted and Persecution Watch along with International Orality Network as we host our second 2016 24-hour prayer event at the end of April. Thank you to all who participated on January’s Call Event. What a joy it is to pray united with all of you. It means so much and greatly encouraged the persecuted brethren on the call with us! We were told, “It felt like we were together praying in the same room!”

My brothers and sisters our prayers do make a difference. Please join with as we pray and cry out to God for the Persecuted Church and the global harvest of souls. Again our prayers have a great impact in the lives of our persecuted brothers and sisters.
