One small voice cries out for the Persecuted Church

persecution-11-2

(Voice of the Persecuted) Our hearts our breaking as we communicate with our persecuted brethren around the world, this Christmas Eve morning. Every very morning starts with messaging them, to be sure they are safe.  We pray with them, encourage them and even cry with them. Christmas for many in the Body will look very different to ours in the West, this year.

While we settle into our Christmas celebrations, our brethren are hurting, suffering, and live in fear. Today, persecuted Christians in Thailand are facing continued arrests which have grown in intensity. Their need for basics such as food, shelter and safety is increasing. This morning, they are asking for our prayers.  Here is a message from one of the persecuted:

“Send a message to my brothers and sisters that we will not give into the battle raging around us. We will continue to fight for our rights, even if we have to be arrested. Our faith grows stronger as more persecution approaches.”

Thailand has increasing their raids on the Christian Pakistani’s seeking refuge from the storm of persecution in Pakistan. There is no help in sight as the government refuses to recognize them and the UNHCR seems incapable to protect them.  Days before Christmas, Christians have been arrested and will be treated less than animals on Christmas Day. We try to help with bail, food, and basic needs, but the needs are so great.

Their faith, as you see is increasing in persecution.  Join us in lifting our voices and prayers for these dear brethren.  Let them know that we stand with them.  We may not physically be able to be with them, but we can stand in the divide and lift our voices and our prayers.  The prayers of the Saints are taken to the throne of God.

We will stand with you in the gap!

Our prayer for our Brethren, this Christmas Eve.  Again we stand with you!

Father we thank you for the gift of Salvation through your Son Jesus.  We recognize that we are in tribulation and facing persecution, please Father my prayer is for those suffering in Thailand.  Those in hiding, those facing arrest, those living in fear without provisions.  We know that you are there with them.  We ask that you make your presence known, let your love shine through this darkness, and lift them up in your mighty hands.  Let them feel your love and healing hands.  Send your angels to surround them and drive back the darkness.  Send us as your hands and feet to care for them. In Jesus mighty name we ask this.  Amen.

New cases continue to pour in. It’s heartbreaking when we cannot meet the needs of all those in immense suffering to help them survive—to cover the fines to prevent them from going to the Central Jail with hardened criminals—to pay the large sum of bail to protect them from rearrests and the horrid Immigration Detention Center for two years. Please help us to continue aiding our suffering brothers and sisters in Thailand.

UPDATE 11:00 am EST:

We have now received the news 25 Pakistani Christians have been arrested today, including children and a pregnant woman. We are praying we can raise the funds to help pay the overstay fees to keep them out of the Central Jail, but we need your help!

Together with your generous help, we can reach the goal to alleviate horrific suffering. In darkness and desperation, let us serve in love, with open arms and giving hands to provide light and hope.

  1. Christine Shoffner says:

Is there not a way to get the word out to persecuted Christians in Pakistan that Thailand is an even worse option?

  2. Thanks VOP for keeping this before us for prayers. It’s easy for us living in comfort to forget the suffering of brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering DAILY. I also want to wish you all at VOP a heartfelt Merry Christ-mas and a tremendous and Happier New Year! Daniel from FreeAllThree.com
