Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in my name, I am there in their midst.
We believe our prayers did reached heaven and that Jesus was in our midst as we made intercession for the persecuted church.
James tells us that the prayers of a righteous man can accomplish much. Where two or three come together in agreement our prayers do move heaven. John Wesley remarked that God will only do for us in humanity as we do for Him in prayer.
During the Prayer Event, we heard from and prayed for two servants of God, as they shared the plight Christians are facing in Nigeria and Iraq. These precious saints have seen people impacted by persecution firsthand. Our brother, Father Gideon and Sister Charmaine are ministering to people who are fleeing the onslaught of Islamic terrorism. Their eyes have seen people traumatized by evil and yet their presence in the lives of the persecuted bring the hope of Jesus.
Though we cannot be with these servants physically. We can certainly be with them in spirit through our prayers. Already Brother Gideon has sent an email expressing how much our prayers have meant to him and to the people he ministers to. They have been encouraged to remain ever resilient and focused in their faith, hoping God keeps us together in His love.
Voice of the Persecuted and Persecution Watch is already planning the next call event and hoping to offer this opportunity quarterly for the persecuted Church. We’ll keep you updated.
Dear saints, the persecuted church ask that we pray for them. They ask we pray for their endurance and strength in the midst of their trials and tribulations. They ask us to pray that they not deny Jesus. How can we turn away from such a simple request. All they ask for is our prayers.
I pray, we make a new commitment to pray for the persecuted Church in the days, weeks and months ahead. I pray that you will avail yourself to the opportunity to pray with other saints on the conference call, which continues through Persecution Watch, a ministry that partners with VOP. Though we can intercede privately for the persecuted in the prayer closet and praise God for those that do, there is a power when saints come together in agreement in prayer. For truly there is a shifting in the heavenlies.
Persecution Watch will continue to meet nightly to the end of February. This is a splendid opportunity to come and pray with other like minded brethren for the persecuted.
