Pope Francis condemns beheading of 21 Coptic Christian by ISIS

Pope Francis has today expressed ‘profound sadness’ at hearing of the brutal murders of the 21 Christian Egyptians. ‘Today I read about the execution of those twenty-one or twenty-two Coptic Christians,’ the Pope said in his native Spanish according to Breitbart. ‘Their only words were: “Jesus, help me!”  They were executed for nothing more than the fact that they were Christian. The blood of our Christian sisters and brothers is testimony that cries out [to us].  via Pope Francis condemns beheading of 21 Coptic Christians by ISIS | Daily Mail Online.

I haven’t watched the video but I have heard the descriptions, I have seen the images of the waves of blood in the sea, I have heard the warnings to the “Nation of the Cross”, I have heard them say that they will put the blood of Christians into the sea with the blood of Osama Bin Laden.   What I have not heard is the words from our leader that he condemns the killing of Christians.  What he said is far from condemnation, according to him he is Christian, but he shows no mercy, no compassion, no empathy no sorrow for our brethren.  He issued this statement by press secretary Josh Earnest late Sunday, “the killing of the 21 Egyptian men a “despicable and cowardly murder” that should accelerate the need for a political resolution to the burgeoning conflict in Libya.  And now it’s being reported that what Government remains in Libya is condemning Egypt for what they say is an attack on their sovereignty. Really?  Which begs the question that we asked in the beginning of the Libya invasion, why?  Why did we replace one dictator with a monster?  What did they expect would happen?

My heart is with our Brethren and their families.  My prayer is for Peace and comfort that can only come from our Father.  For endurance, for strength and courage.   Christians are mourning, we are mourning with the families of these precious souls, these men have been given white robes at the feet of our Savior, and are hearing the words, well done my good and faithful servant, welcome home.

Revelation 6:  When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also.

I know that some of these men were family men having to make the dangerous trips to and from Libya in search of work so they could support their families. My heart is sick for the impact on these little kids and all the families.

There is no way to escape the truth that the US has intentionally replaced imperfect leaders, sometimes of our choosing, with genuine monsters such as was Morsi. I think all of this relates to preparations for Satan’s global governance. God help us all. What we have done in the ME makes me absolutely sick.

Let us remember the loved ones of these precious martyrs. Let us remember them in our prayers. For while these dear saints are in the presence of Jesus, their loved ones are weeping with grief.

  3. There should be an uprising of a Christian army,,, because this is a religious fight between Muslims and Christian..They’re own caliph said its us an them..Are we going to be like lambs to the slaughter or start to fight back.. This is happening all over the world not just the Middle East..

  4. The pope should have condemned this atrocity…Why didn’t he do this,,, Is he afraid to offend Muslims..

A believer in Christ Jesus walks in a different mindset. The same mindset that these Coptic brothers displayed. The same mindset that followers of Jesus Christ have display for 2000 years toward their enemies.

Jesus taught in Mat. 5:38-39 that we are not to resist an evil person. But we are to turn the other cheek. He also taught in Mat. 5:43-44 that we are to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. That is what these Coptic brothers were doing. That is what the persecuted church has done for 2000 years.

The greatest injustice ever done to a man was done to the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet he exemplified what He taught. When Peter wanted to take out His sword and defend Christ. Jesus told him to put his sword away. For those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword. In Mat .26:51-53 Jesus indicated He could call down legions of angels to defend him. I imagine one angel could have adequately done the job. But had Jesus not going to the cross for our sins then we would not have salvation.

In Luke 23:34 we hear Jesus saying Father forgive them for they know not what they do. Here the Son of God is walking out His own teaching and forgiving His enemies. We are are called to do the same.

The fact that the Pope did not condemn this evil is not fear on his part. But simply he is walking out the teachings of Jesus.

      My thoughts.

I wept too when I saw them kneeling, not panicking nor struggling and simply asking Jesus to help them which I am sure he would do. I wept again when I saw the blood in the sea, it was so shocking. They asked in Rev. 6 that their blood be avenged; I can only ask Lord that those who committed this dreadful act will think about it, and dream about it, and then realise how dreadful it is and turn away from committing these acts in the future. Lord I do pray for the families, for joy to come instead of grief, for memories to become good ones, for Your Peace in their hearts when they realise that one day we will all be together in the Kingdom with the Lord of all creation. I praise the Name above all Names, Jesus our Lord.

Jesus sad unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies it remains.alone. But if it dies it bears much fruit. Tertullian said that the blood of the martyr is the seed of the church. Dear Jesus may much fruit, much seed come from the blood of these precious saints. . In Your Name. Amen

Can we not start a tradition of wearing red bandannas to show solidarity with the murdered Christian men?
