There is nothing that has happened that has not happened before. When one reads the word of God, we see so many times when Israel was oppressed, pressed on all sides, our Father with his immeasurable love raised up a praying individual.
When one looks at the world through the eyes of Christ himself, we see that he warned his people what would happen to them individually and collectively when they turned away from Him.
I have heard many preachers cry out for a renewal but as others have said in the past, this renewal will not come without repentance of both men as individuals and men collectively as a nation.
Are you a voice crying in the wilderness for the persecuted and oppressed? Will you hear the voice of your loving Father and be a Nehemiah and pray, fast, mourn and weep so that God’s hand can move in your nation— for your brothers and sisters being put to death for their belief in Christ Jesus—for those being imprisoned like Paul in the Word and many others who have since followed the same pathway with many still in prison?
Nation after nation and all their leaders are not only allowing the persecution of God’s children, they are actively promoting it in various forms. How can our Father move? How can he send his angles into the fray if there is no voice in the wilderness crying out and reminding Him of His promises.
The voice of the persecuted, oppressed, broken and bound grows louder and louder every day. The face of evil grows bolder and bolder each moment and hour. Have we become so comfortable in our lives that we turn a blind eye to all that is happening around us?
We, God’s children are the light unto the world or should be, but this light grows weaker by the day. We see man made religion, false religions all coming together like a giant and boldly proclaiming from the roof tops that they are going to swat down, destroy every land, every person that follows after Christ Jesus.
God’s people are in the valley of decision, like those that were following Jesus who turned away because they thought his teaching was too hard. Will we be as the disciples who when prompted by Jesus himself and asked will they too turn away, replied who will we turn to, there is no other for you truly are the messiah. (John 6)
Will we be like a good soldier and endure the hardness that comes from following the Lord Jesus Christ and will endure it unto death?
All our Father needs is one individual who heart is after Him. He does not need an army, though this is what He has. Who will open his heart and allow Him to use his voice, his body, soul and spirit to cry out and stand when they have done all to stand and then stand again?
Again our Father asks, Will you be a Nehemiah, will you rend your heart and not your garments? Will you become my anguish in these places so that my light shines for all men to see and they come to know the truth, the life and the way?
Do not think you need the things of this world to carry out this task before me, you only need a willing heart. Go into your closet and come unto Me with thanksgiving in your mouth. And I will come to you and fill your belly with living waters so that they are poured out through your mouth into the darkness that surrounds the oppressed, broken, persecuted, bound and lost. My words will become your words, and your will will become my will when you lay down your life for Me and in doing so you will find it again.
Let My will be done as it is done in heaven and the glory of the Father who sitteth upon his throne shall fill the land and the people and they shall be healed and set free.
Ezekiel 22:30. I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.
Hey Steve, yes this maybe the case in many circumstances even in today mixed up, lost and barren world.
Have you ever had a vivid dream where you seen a face and you hear a voice call unto you in the dream asking you to open your mouth and speak. Or have you ever had something so impressed into your spirit that it just does not go away until you finally go and do that thing?
Being lead by the spirit of God in these times may very well save your life and your loved ones, but it also may just save someone life who is in a far away country facing trails or tribulations right where they are.
To give an example I was once in a petrol (Gas) station and had just paid at the counter for what I had purchased. As I walked out of the doors I heard the Holy Spirit say to me see that van across the road, so I looked and answered yes I see that van. The Holy Ghost then said go across the road and give change that you have in your hand to the person in that van.
So I went across the road, knocked on the sliding door of the van and this young lady came out. I told her exactly what the Lord had spoken to me, that I was to give her this money. She was stunned and I turned and walked away.
Now some weeks later I was lead to go back to the same place and this van was parked in the same place. So I parked my car and hopped out and this young lady seen me and came running over to me. Her words to me were along these lines, what you did confirmed to me that there is a God as on that day I was in the back of the van saying many angry words and some of them were if you are there God then send someone so I know beyond doubt, then she said, you knocked on the door and spoke your words and gave me the money. All the time whilst she was saying these words tears were flowing down her face.
In all this I was able to show the seed about the Lord Jesus Christ and who she was to follow.
Point of all these words is simply, if your heart is for the Lord and you are filled with his spirit you will hear him speak and He knows beyond doubt that you will be bold enough in Him to go and take that action.
There is no treasure on this earth that is worth more than one soul and yes he does need a messenger to take that message to that person. Note in the word that the Pharisees noted that Jesus’ disciples were unlearned men but they also noted they had spent time with Jesus.
No man needs a university degree to do God’s work, they just need Jesus and He will teach them His ways which are not mans ways.
The Traveller – Praise “THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY” for your listening to ‘the still small voice’ (I Ki 19:12 – KJV)
“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”
(Is 30:21 – KJV)
The Lord works in mysterious ways and I must be less likely to hear the message than most.
We had three days to look for and buy the house we currently live in twelve years ago (Richmond, VA to Albany, NY). My in-laws (from Maine) came to watch the kids so my wife and I could look for what had to be found in three days. Zippo, nil, nothing on days one and two. My wife and I were feeling the pressure as we set off with the realtor on day 3. Eight hours to find a house, cranky, bickering, not happy campers were my wife and me. As we headed out my mother-in-law said “Remember, this is the day that the Lord has made.”
If I ever I wanted to – not hear those words – it was then. My wife felt the same way. We both had “foul” attitudes. The kind of foul attitudes that you enjoy, over my dead body am I going to listen to the cheery attitude of someone who invokes a little kids Sunday School song (yes scripture inspired) as we walk out the door in search of an impossible thing to find.
Morning, nothing. After lunch, nothing. I noticed a “For Sale by Owner” sign in one of the neighborhoods we were looking in and asked the realtor to make the phone call. He did and 5 minutes later we walked through the front door. We liked the entryway, the study and kitchen. Hope. We walked into the family room and discovered the words of a children’s song as border. “This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made… “ was hand stenciled on the three family room walls. My wife and I looked at each other in disbelief and then belief. Didn’t say a word to each other. We knew. Sold.
It seems I’m pretty daft and the Holy Spirit must know me pretty well. Others hear that “still small voice” and obey. I need it in print on three family room walls.
“THE LORD JEHOVAH” has already given unto those who will read – and sincerely believe – and pray – and do – what He has written in His Holy Word”:
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
(II Chron 7:14 – KJV)
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
(James 5:16 – KJV)
How many real CHRISTians are actually willing to truly believe, and to actually do as the old Hymn says – “Where He leads me I will follow”?
